The International Space Station ISS travels at an altitude of around 400 kilometers and at a speed of 28,000 kilometers per hour. The European science module Columbus is operated from Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich/Germany: the Columbus Control Center is situated within the German Space Operations Center of the German Aerospace Agency (DLR).
