Model train in a wind tunnel
The German Aerospace Center (DLR) has developed a unique tunnel simulator in Göttingen to test the aerodynamics of future train designs. Models at scales 1:25 and 1:100 are accelerated down the tunnel at 400 kilometres per hour. The picture shows a model of the DLR Next Generation Train at a scale of 1:25 in the cryogenic wind tunnel at Cologne.
