The delegation was welcomed by Pascale Ehrenfreund, Chair of the DLR Executive Board, and Hansjörg Dittus, DLR Executive Board Member for Space Research and Technology. Dr Rajaram, who is responsible for the consular districts of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, has been in office since November 2016.

The bilateral discussions focused on the cooperation between DLR and the Indian space agency ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). Already very successful, the technical workshops will continue and be expanded in future, especially in the areas of Earth observation and exploration. The guests were also given a tour of the DLR Earth Observation Center (EOC). Consul General Rajaram was particularly fascinated by the work conducted at the Center for Satellite Based Crisis Communication (ZKI). The Indian delegation concluded its visit to Oberpfaffenhofen with a tour of the German Space Operations Center (GSOC).
