Inaugural launch of Europe's new Ariane 6 launcher on 9 July 2024
The new European Ariane 6 launcher successfully lifts off from the launch pad on 9 July 2024 at 21:00 CEST (16:00 local time Kourou). The mobile gantry – a giant mobile garage on rails that is approximately 100 metres tall and weighs 8000 tonnes – can be seen in the background. With its gigantic dimensions, the mobile gantry is one of the largest and heaviest mobile structures in the world. It surrounded the rocket during its final integration.
