Bed rest study at DLR's :envihab facility
The bed is tilted down six degrees towards the head. This causes the fluids in the body to shift almost exactly as they do for astronauts in space. The SMC study at :envihab, the aerospace medicine laboratory in Cologne, will start in September 2024. It will primarily focus on investigating sensorimotor impairments resulting from prolonged space missions and potential countermeasures.
