The test hall of the DLR Institute of Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines houses a range of digitally networked test benches that all complement each other. These include four globally unique MTC test benches, which simulate engine-like conditions by exposing testing materials to extreme mechanical, thermal and chemical stresses. These tests enable researchers to determine the durability of engine components even more precisely and reliably.
