Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) is a NASA initiative for robotic Moon landings. CLPS aims to prepare for the return of humans to the Moon as part of NASA's Artemis programme. CLPS missions are carried out by private companies on behalf of NASA. The first CLPS mission, launched on 8 January 2024, was not successful. The second mission, IM-1, was launched on 15 February 2024 and served as the precursor to the current IM-2 mission. It landed near the lunar south pole on 22 February 2024.
