At the International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) Berlin, the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and the German Air Force extended their cooperation. Senior representatives of both organisations signed a cooperation agreement on 12 June 2026. DLR and the German Air Force already share a long-standing collaboration: DLR contributes expertise and technological know-how from its research areas of aeronautics, space, security and defence. German Air Force units and formations are regularly hosted at DLR sites for joint exercises, training and instruction, and work alongside DLR researchers. In this way, both organisations exchange their expertise in a targeted manner – in support of active security and defence research, where complex systems are a matter of course and high precision and reliability are essential.
