BepiColombo’s flyby of Venus
On 15 October 2020 at 05:58 CEST, the European-Japanese Mercury mission BepiColombo will perform a flyby of Venus just 10,720 kilometres above the surface of Earth’s sister planet. The aim of the manoeuvre is to decelerate the spacecraft and gradually align its orbit around the Sun with the orbit of Mercury, the spacecraft’s final destination.
