Commercial Modelica Libraries
DLR develops commercial Modelica libraries in some core research fields of the institute, in order to provide industry with key research results in a form that can be directly utilized for the development of industrial products.
Conventional, hybrid and electrical vehicle powertrains (PowerTrain)

Commercial Modelica library providing 1-dim. rotational mechanical components for vehicle powertrains as well as components to model hybrid and pure electrical powertrains. Optionally, all 3-dim. mechanical effects can be taken into account, e.g., when mounting a powertrain on a multi-body vehicle dynamics model. In addition, basic components for modeling the longitudinal dynamics of a whole car are available. However the focus is on powertrain modeling with emphasis on standard and planetary gears with losse and flexible driveline models.
The library is distributed by Dassault Systèmes for CATIA and Dymola and by BAUSCH-GALL GmbH
Flexible bodies (FlexibleBodies)

Commercial Modelica library to model large motions of beams, plates and of flexible bodies exported from finite element programs. The flexible bodies can have a large reference motion and stress stiffening and softening terms are taken into account. Provided components: Rayleigh beams with optional moving loads, annular plates, thermoelastic plates, and order reduced finite element models based on the SID format and optional moving loads. The preprocessor FEMBS from Intec is capable to generate an SID file from the FE programs ABAQUS, ANSYS, Nastran, I-DEAS, and PERMAS (with special order reduction methods, optional inclusion of stress stiffening terms and generation of animation information which is used from the FlexibleBodies library). Furthermore, files in SID format can be generated directly by ABAQUS.
The library is distributed by Dassault Systèmes for CATIA and Dymola, and by BAUSCH-GALL GmbH
Design Optimization (Optimization)

Commercial Modelica library for multi-criteria parameter and trajectory optimization based on simulations over Modelica models. All optimization problems can be defined by drag & drop. Criteria for an optimiziation run may consist of simulations at different operating points.
The library is distributed by Dassault Systèmes for CATIA and Dymola.
Model-integrated visualization (Visualization)

Commercial Modelica library for an advanced model integrated visualization of Modelica models, especially in the mechanical, fluid and electrical area. The components are available for offline, online, and realtime animation and are usually attached to a Modelica model with a Frame connector of the MultiBody library. The library contains visualizers for elementary shapes (boxes, spheres, etc.), CAD files (current formats: dxf, 3ds, obj, stl), flexible bodies and surfaces, text, light, energy/mass-flow visualizers, analogue instruments, weather effects, and cameras. The rendering engine is based on the OpenSceneGraph software and supports multi-camera scenes, fullscreen mode, several monitors, replays and stereo/wireframe modes. The integrated video export function allows the export of the animation replays as MPEG4, Windows Media Video, Flash Video and Lossless HUFF video.
The library is distributed by BAUSCH-GALL GmbH
