The Ismenia Patera depression is located in the Arabia Terra region, at the transition between the southern highlands and northern lowlands on Mars. The images described in the article are taken from the smaller rectangle inside the larger, marked image strip of the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) operated by DLR.
