The LUNA hall contained around 750 tonnes of regolith simulant on the day the plant opened on 25 September 2024. Once the final construction work has been completed, there will be 900 tonnes. The ‘Moon dust’ was delivered over weeks in large sacks from a quarry in the Rhein-Sieg district (North Rhine-Westphalia).
