TanDEM-X images of the Rhenish lignite mining region
These images compare elevation data from 2010/2014 with 2018, and 2018 with 2023. Across these time intervals, elevation changes become apparent in several stages. The red areas in the middle and right-hand images show the ongoing lignite mining, while the blue-marked areas indicate the displacement of the resulting spoil.
