Robot teamwork: LRU1 and LRU2 working with LIBS
The two rovers LRU2 (left) and LRU1 working in the LUNA facility. LRU2 uses its robotic arm to position the LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) device housed in the gold-coloured box. LIBS uses a pulsed laser to analyse rock samples. In the LUNA facility, researchers tested instruments and robots designed to locate water ice on the Moon.
