Successful entry: HEART – TU Darmstadt
HEART is a modular CS-23 flight demonstrator system that enables the testing of hydrogen propulsion under real flight conditions. With a high-aspect-ratio wing, DEP and machine-learning-based thermal management (CRYO-ML), the system tests the integration of liquid hydrogen, fuel cells and intelligent energy management within a single platform. The modular architecture allows for rapid switching between fuel cell and turbo-generator propulsion, while the combination of DEP and Fowler flaps enables short take-off and landing capabilities. HEART bridges the gap between laboratory and flight testing, and represents a central platform for the technology maturation of future emission-free aircraft.
