Parabolic flights with the A310 Air Zero-G
A specially equipped aircraft is used for the German Space Agency at DLR's parabolic flight campaigns: the Airbus A310 Zero-G from the French company Novespace. It flies parabolas, during which it 'falls' towards the ground in a dive, creating near-weightlessness on board for approximately 22 seconds. Researchers use this valuable time to conduct experiments across a wide range of scientific disciplines. On a typical flight day, Zero-G flies 31 parabolas in succession.
