True-colour top-down view of the southern part of Kaiser Crater in the Martian highlands
This vertical, top-down view of the southern part of the 200-kilometre-wide Kaiser Crater (right half of the image) shows a typical, large field of crescent-shaped and transverse dunes, as commonly found in the Martian highlands where sand is transported by the wind. The image covers an area of approximately 190 by 80 kilometres. A characteristic feature of this landscape is the high density of heavily eroded impact craters.
