Windenergy - modal tests on 6 rotor blades

 Film Modaltest an 6 Rotorblättern

In June/July our GVT Team conducted modal tests on 6 rotor blades to be installed in the wind energy research farm WiValdi from DLR in Krummendeich. Modal testing was done in the halls of IWES Fraunhofer-Institut für Windenergiesysteme at Bremerhaven.

To establish modal data for a structural digital twin the test setup was realized with free-free boundary conditions using ~1000 bungee cords, 200 additional external accelerometers and a heavy impact hammer and long stroke shaker.
