Our mission:
The Microwaves and Radar Institute develops new microwave processes and sensor-specific applications for remote sensing, traffic monitoring and reconnaissance. Our work focuses on high-resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar technologies. At present, our scientists are using data from the twin satellites TanDEM-X and TerraSAR-X to generate the world's first homogeneous digital elevation model of Earth, and they are responsible for scientific use of the remote sensing data.
