Industry and technology, as well as all other areas in life, need to adapt to the current digital transformation. Industry 4.0 refers to smart factories where the traditional pipeline production processes are substituted for digital platforms that satisfy the current market. This digitalization process requires the development of new software that can cope with large quantities of data, the connection of cyber-physical systems and standardized communication systems. In the long term, the goal is to ensure that the German space industry, within the European context, is adapted to the new standards and competitive on the global scene.
