The HySpex hyperspectral sensor is an airborne imaging spectrometer developed by DLR's Earth Observation Center in Oberpfaffenhofen. Using two 'push-broom' cameras, it records data with a sub-metre spatial resolution in the spectral range from 420 to 2500 nanometres. The image data obtained is comparable to aerial photography, but instead of the usual three channels (red, green, blue), it captures 988 spectral bands per pixel.
