Holodeck

The holodeck is available for indoor experiments and, thanks to the optical reference system Vicon® tracking, allows dynamic objects to be localised with millimetre precision. The holodeck is used for pedestrian navigation and swarm exploration. The optical reference system is used to determine the positional accuracy of new methods for pedestrian navigation. In addition, error-prone situations are identified in order to further improve the algorithms used. For swarm exploration, the holodeck is used to test and validate the exploration algorithms and to prepare the outdoor experiments. Furthermore, hardware-in-the-loop simulations are carried out in the holodeck. Up to five rovers or three drones are driven or flown simultaneously in the holodeck.
