DLR contributions to Germany's High-Tech Agenda
The High-Tech Agenda is designed to boost Germany's innovative capacity and sovereignty through targeted support for key technologies. DLR plays a central role with applied cutting-edge research, close cooperation with industry and public authorities, and the transfer of solutions in aeronautics, space, energy, transport, security and defence.

Through targeted investments in key technologies, the German federal government aims to strengthen Germany's competitiveness, security and economic performance. The High-Tech Agenda Germany promotes innovation along the entire chain – from initial ideas to market-ready products. It links German and European research and innovation policies and streamlines collaboration with international technology partners. At the same time, the initiative forges close connections between research and technology and industrial and regional policy – in terms of industry and labour markets, as well as security and defence.

The focus lies on key future technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, microelectronics and technologies for climate-neutral mobility and energy generation. Decision-makers are also looking to strengthen strategic research areas such as aeronautics, space, security and defence.

"Through knowledge exchange and transfer, our application- and results-oriented research supports the work of our partners – including public stakeholders such as authorities with security responsibilities, the German armed forces, municipalities and private sector actors from start-ups to mid-sized companies and major manufacturers," explains Anke Kaysser-Pyzalla, Chair of the DLR Executive Board. "By focusing on our research fields of aeronautics, space, transport, security and defence and specific areas of energy research, we are strengthening Germany's status as a location for business and making a significant contribution to the successful implementation of Germany's High-Tech Agenda."
